Message from the Executive Director & Superintendent:

Welcome Back to School RCCS Families!

I am so excited to welcome back our returning scholars and to welcome our new scholars to the RCCS experience! We have a lot planned for this school year and we are already off to a GREAT start! Our annual Summer Institute for Teachers & Staff was a perfect start and set an intentional tone for data-driven, laser-focused strategies to ensure your children receive the quality, individualized instruction they need and deserve. I want to thank all my teachers and staff for their hard work, planning, and preparation towards ensuring we are fully prepared to receive your children! Thank you in advance to our amazing parents for helping to make this a fantastic start for our scholars by getting them to school ready to learn, in full uniform, and on time each and every day! We are excited to work together this school year on behalf of your children and their success!

At Roseville Community Charter School, we believe that all children can learn if you address their needs looking at the whole child, by targeting their individualized learning needs, breaking down any known barriers to learning, and supporting their varying learning styles. This is why we offer so many opportunities for our scholars to become active members of the school community as well as active participants in their own learning! We also strongly believe that parents and guardians must be our partners in the effective education of their children. Therefore, we offer plenty of opportunities for parental participation such as our Class Parents Program, Chaperones for field trips, Parent University, Parent Advisory Group (PAG) meetings, “Kings Who Read” / “Queens Who Read” school wide literacy events, Parent Committees, and our Parent Appreciation Brunch event, just to name a few! We look forward to our parents being even more actively involved this school year starting with our annual Class Visit Day & Family Orientation Night on Monday, Aug. 26th!

The next opportunity to be actively involved is on Tues. Sept. 24th for parents of Grades K-2 scholars and Thurs. Sept. 26th for parents of Grades 3-4 scholars when we host our annual “Back-to-School Nights” here at the school at 5:30 pm! Be on the lookout for information to become a “class parent” or to chaperone the next field trip! In addition, we will have sign up sheets for participation in Parent Committees including the “Family Fall Harvest / Trick-or-Treat” event scheduled for Friday, October 18th from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm here at the school!

Yours in Learning,
Dr. Ledford
