Message from the Executive Director & Superintendent:

We are now in the 2 nd half of the 2024-2025 school year here at Roseville Community Charter School! We are a “small but mighty” school where COMMUNITY and EXCELLENCE is our goal and the whole child is our focus! We are excited about our charter being approved for the maximum 5 years AND approval to expand our school to Grade 5 in the next school year! We are also excited about our educational and extracurricular programs as well as our plans for the next half of the school year, so we are confident that this next semester will be as productive and fun for your children as the first semester was!

In addition to our rigorous academic programs, we will continue to focus on our scholars’ social emotional development through our Social Emotional Learning Fun & Wellness (S.E.L.F. & Wellness) program which includes mindfulness art lessons and weekly yoga! We also have quite a few field trips planned and many upcoming schoolwide events! We encourage all our parents to please help our school by playing an active role in school events and consider joining a parent committee, such as the School Dance Committee, the Kindergarten Moving Up Committee, or the Grade 4 Celebration of Excellence Party Committee. It is important that parents work to establish a strong home / school connection as this has a direct impact on student achievement. Opportunities to actively participate in your child’s education will be ongoing throughout the rest of the school year through our Class Parents Program, monthly Parent Advisory Group (PAG) meetings, and serving on a School Parent Committee.

This semester’s major schoolwide events are: The 6 th Annual “Kings Who Read” ~ Dr. MLK Jr. Literacy Event, on January 24th , “Black History Month” culminating event on Feb. 28th , The 100th Day of School on Jan. 31st , “Read Across America” & Scholastic Book Fair from March 3rd through March 7th and our 4th annual “Queens Who Read” ~ Women’s History Month Literacy Event! These are just a few of the many meaningful opportunities for parents to participate in their child’s education! We look forward to seeing you here at the school for all or most of these school events.

Expansion to Grade 5 planning and enrollment is also a primary focus now that we received approval from the NJDOE! Grade 4 families should lookout for communication from my office to secure your grade 4 scholar’s seat as part of the inaugural Grade 5 RCCS Class! This new expansion to Grade 5 will now allow our scholars to remain with us for their entire K-5 elementary experience. We are so grateful for the approval from the NJ State Department of Education, and we thank all the RCCS parents who signed the petition in support of this expansion to Grade 5! Your support and partnership are always greatly appreciated. I look forward to seeing all our RCCS families at the next school event! Thank you for choosing RCCS!

Yours in Learning,
Dr. Ledford
